I'm personally not so much a fan of those big hotels, where there are literally hundreds of rooms and probably thousands of staff members who attend to the guests from day-to-day. These are those big hotels where it is difficult to feel like you are on an adventure vacation. It feels more like you are actually in some sort of apartment. I don't know. Sometimes I just feel that way.
I think I still prefer low-rise villas for this purpose. They most definitely feel more homey than their big-hotel counterparts. Perhaps nothing will be much better than taking a shower with the rest of the jungle in your background, or having your lunch personally served by the owner of the bed-and-breakfast. Sometimes renting a room in one of these places may cost more, but the service is definitely better.
If you agree with me, and you are planning to go on a Costa Rican vacation, I bet you are already trying to look for a suitable bed-and-breakfast. One can name a couple of inns that you can check, but only a few really stand out. One resort that I can recommend is the Xandari Resorts and Spa, located along Esterillo beach.
Artsy is probably the best adjective to use to describe the villas. It boasts of mosaic-tiled bathrooms that, yeah, open up to the garden. Now it really feels like you are being one with nature while taking your shower. Meanwhile, each of the villas are separate buildings, each of which are filled with paintings, tapestries, and mosaics created by Charlene Broudy. Meanwhile, all of the villas were designed by owner and architect Sherill Broudy.
As for the bar and restaurants, a scenic view is something that you will not miss. These important locations are placed in the most optimal position and the resort. Furthermore, the proximity to the Esterillo beach will allow you to do more activities than you could have with a big hotel near the city.
Of course Xandari has special packages for you this holiday season. Just check out the website for more details.
