Why do the guidebook writers tell you to come at the worst pasrt of the year to Costa Rica

I must be crazy, but I guess I will never understand why people who want to promote a certain place would write one thing, when it is obvious that they are trying to get tourists to come all year round. The people that KNOW when the best time of the year to visit is will COME at the time.

I guess Costa Rica is getting hard up for visitors in the dry season so they tell us poor unsuspecting folks to come then instead of in the rainy season when there are actually leaves on the trees and so forth.
