diving Summer-Salt Dive Center Interview
Name of your website?

Summer-Salt Dive Center

Your name?

Patrick

Your Location (city, etc)

Playas del Coco, on the northern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica

Please give us a short summary of your website?

You'll find all the information about our diving and non-diving activities related to the Pacific Ocean. Meet the owners, find out more about our infrastructure, the diving and the place where we are!

What inspired you to launch your own dive business?

Diving is our passion and we love to transmit it! The best way to do so is through a professional dive structure and live it at 100%!

When did you launch your diving career?

About 10 years ago, I slipped into it on an Island vacation and never got loose from it again.

How did you decide on a name for your company?

It had to be positive, inspiring not only for what we do, but in general, leaving other opportunities open. The dual sense of "Summer-Salt" (or "somer-sault") fits this idea.

What makes you different from other, similar offerings?

We are a family business and do everything with our heart! We are flexible, personal and always smiling! Customized offers are our strength we are proud of.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Of course we try to make a living out of it! But the passion and life style is certainly the main goal.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

If you have a passion for something, time and money doesn't matter...

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your business?

I would take people out for free...

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I wouldn't want it to be like that, but would certainly follow the demand!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Administrational paper work...a real pain! But everything is in order now!

What has been your biggest challenge?

Integrate our family in this new, different environment we live in! It's been a great experience and very rewarding once you're a respected part of it. We love Costa Rica and the diving here!

What method has been most successful for promoting your business?

Being present, helpful, patient, listen to the needs and expectations, honest and get a great reputation through mouth to ear promotion.

How has running your businss differed from your expectations?

In nothing, maybe finding the right people with similar attitudes to help me with it!

How long have you run the business already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The web site is a window to the world from our home. I will keep it as long as we're doing this and of course try to increase its traffic. It's been a helpful tool to inform about our activities and becomes more and more popular through promotion on other related web-sites like this one...

Anything you would do different when you look back?

Not really, maybe take more time to check everything out and make sure there will be no, or better: less problems to resolve...

What is your website address?
