Have you ever heard of Liberia? No, I am not talking of Liberia the country but of Liberia the city. It's the capital of Guanacaste, the northwestern province of Costa Rica.

This city has a certain air very different from that of the rest of Costa Rica. This website points out that this is because of the colonial feel that is missing in the big cities of Costa Rica.
