Lapa Rios Eco Lodge

By Website Introductions at 05/06/08 12:32
Because of it being famous among backpackers, sustainable tourism in Costa Rica is difficult to implement. The mere volume of people flocking to Costa Rica's beaches is already indicative of the danger that commercialization may bring to the nation's ecosystem.

Right now, actions are being done to preserve whatever Costa Rica still has left. Institutions like hotels and lodges are already finding out ways to do this. One of these lodges is the Lapa Rios Eco Lodge. Find out more about its advocacy here in its official website.

Of course times have changed and now we can go around the world in 80 hours perhaps but at some places time doesn't seem to fall in pace with times. Just read on this adventure where these people spent not 80 but nearly 180 hours.

Turnaround in Osa

By Website Introductions at 05/05/08 14:25
Preserving the environment despite development is no easy task to accomplish, thanks to people who are interested more on making money.

Take for instance the Osa peninsula here in Costa Rica. It used to be a site for gold miners and poachers but, thanks to eco tourism, the place is much much better now.

Learn how did the Costa Rican government managed to make this turnaround by watching this video.
