How does the rainy season affect tourism in Costa Rica? Are there times when an activity should be totally put aside due to the weather?

Is it ever really cold or really hot? What is the best time of the year to visit Costa Rica weather wise?

Ya never know when a road or bridge might vanish but generally speaking...NO. The rainy season is the best time of year to visit CR.

Temps in CR dont vary much at all throughout the year.

Overall temps are only related to elevation.

The worse time of year to come is the season the boneheads writing guidebooks( bastante disinformation) recommend.

Dec-April.

Guanacaste is a dustbowl and doesn't even resemble the tropics that visitors expect.

It looks more like Oklahoma than the " Hawaii" potrayed in the brochures.

Well... It still beats winter in The Empire, I suppose..

My favorite months to travel around are May-Octt-nov.

I live on the lake so it's always about the same year round.

Windy as hell in Nov-Feb !

The Northern beach zone is HOT.. Like Miami in August hot !

Another reason to come in the rainy season when there are actually leaves on the trees and that always refreshing afternoon downpour.
