Resorts vs Bed and Breakfasts in Costa Rica

Think of the options... a five star all inclusive resort that costs so much you'll think you need to be a millionaire to stay there or some bed and breakfasts that are so cheap you think the price is a misprint.

Which is better?

You might find at the all inclusive resort you sit by the pool and drink so much that you would have had the same experience if you had stayed in Miami! Someone that works there might even tell you that it is dangerous to leave the bounds of the resort, unless of course its on an tour that costs extra!

In the bed and breakfast you might meet people that knows the ins and outs of Costa Rica. People in various stages of moving to Costa Rica or living in Costa Rica. Or other travellers that will share their secrets with you.

You'll see the real Costa Rica and make lots of new friends. You'll have a great vacation and adventure. If you drink you might explore the Costa Rican beers and wine.

Feel free to add comments here with your favorite Costa Rica Bed and Breakfast. Mine is Vida Tropical. They are located in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The reason they are my favorite is their breakfast. The food delicious, though I'm not sure it is quite a classical Costa Rican breakfast. More importantly, is the other guests you'll meet. Maybe you'll make some life long friends and if not at least have a great time talking about Costa Rica. Their rates are unbeatable... $30/single, $45/double, but they are way stinge on wifi...
